The poem was composed by a famous nature poet William Wordsworth. In this poem, the poet remembers an experience of his childhood days.He says that he feels a very happy when he sees a rainbow in the sky. There was a rainbow when he was born. He would enjoy a lot when he saw the rainbow in the sky in his childhood days. He hopes to get the same pleasure in his old days. If he can't get such feeling in future , he wishes to die.
The poet says that the child is father of the man. This is a paradoxical statement. He means that the word father is some thing from which some thing begins. Manhood is the result of childhood. To be a father, one has to be a child. So the child hood is the beginning of mankind . The poet wishes that showed deep respect to nature everyday.
